Gift Wrapping Event at Mall of America a Success!

Thanks again to HGTV and all of the volunteers who came together to help with the gift wrapping volunteer event at the Mall of America in November and December!  We raised more than $5,300 thanks to your efforts!

We would like to extend a special thanks to HGTV for giving us the opportunity to participate in this event.  We would also like to thank Rebecca Aiken and John Feldbruegge for helping to organize and recruit volunteers.  Thanks to our shift captains for their leadership, and integrity in handling our equipment, donations, and reputation.  Thanks to the volunteer teams from MidCountry Bank, Wells Fargo, Constance Free Church, and Minnehaha Academy who organized and helped with both gift wrapping and promoting the event at the mall.  And, thanks to all of our volunteers for their enthusiasm, gift wrapping skills, and flexibility in working with HGTV and their production staff.

Rebuilding Together, ATK and Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans Celebrate Completion of Transitional Home for Female Veterans

On December 21st, the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) celebrated the opening of a transitional home for female homeless veterans, the first of its kind in the State of Minnesota. This home was donated to the organization earlier in the year and needed substantial restoration work. Rebuilding Together partnered ATK to repair the kitchen floor joists, install new kitchen flooring, cabinets, appliances, and new windows, and completely refinish and restore this home to its original classic bungalow style.

Congratulations to MACV and ATK for coming together to make a difference in the lives of Minnesota’s veterans!

Thanks to…

Safe at Home Volunteers – completed several projects last month.

Mariette Cole – helped with moving and painting our office, organizing our warehouse and completing Safe at Home projects.

Elise Sjogren – helped paint our new office.

Rebuilding Together Receives Donation through Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce at Minnesota Keystone Award Program

36 years ago, a uniquely Minnesotan tradition called the Keystone Program was started to promote, recognize and support the hundreds of Minnesota companies, their thousands of volunteers and the millions of dollars they contribute each year to our community.

Rebuilding Together Twin Cities wants to congratulate the 2012 Minnesota Keystone Program Honored Company Award winners: KTTC Rochester, Coughlan Companies, and one of our valued partners, Wells Fargo, for their long standing commitment to community giving here in Minnesota.

We also want to thank the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce for organizing the event, which included a drawing for $2500 in donations contributed by the hundreds of community members in attendance. That drawing was generously awarded to one of the many deserving non-profits in attendance, which happened to be us!

Thanks to the Chamber and the members of our community. The donation we received will go to support home repairs and restorations for low income homeowners here in the Twin Cities.
