Judy Joins our Staff

We are excited to share that long-time Office Volunteer Judy Hartman has joined our team as an Office Assistant!  Judy is a graduate of American Indian OIC’s School of Business. After graduation, she was employed part-time in the ABE/GED program while obtaining her Associate’s degree in Human Services from Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Judy has worked for numerous nonprofits throughout the Twin Cities, as well as Ramsey County Department of Human Services and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Judy has been volunteering with us for several months, and we are excited to have her join our staff!

Republic Services Builds Ramp for Veterans in Need

We hosted Republic Services on May 25th and 26th to build a ramp at a Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) home that provides transitional housing for veterans. MACV provides comprehensive program and supportive services to homeless veterans, including housing, employment and legal services.

Improving the accessibility of MACV homes is critical to ensuring that they can serve all veterans in our community. The ramp our volunteers constructed will ensure that the home is accessible for veterans living with a disability.

Master Gardener Intern Spruces Up our Garden

We would like to send a special thank you to Jill Terry, cousin of our AmeriCorps member Kaitlyn Van der Linden, for sprucing up the garden in front of our office! Jill is a St. Kate’s graduate and a Master Gardener Intern for Ramsey County, and she has two pet rabbits. Jill strongly believes in gardening as a therapy tool, and we are grateful for her time, hard work, and expertise!

Thanks to our Ramp Teams!

Our amazing Ramp Teams from The Opus Group and Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program (HRVP) both built ramps for homeowners in need this month. We are so grateful for their hard work – they are truly changing lives one ramp at a time!
