Thanks to Lowe’s!

We would like to send a special thank you to Lowe’s for providing us with funding to build a ramp for a veteran in need! This grant was part of their annual Kickoff to Rebuild partnership with Rebuilding Together, Inc., and Lowe’s provided grants to affiliates located in the hometown of an NFL team, including Rebuilding Together Minnesota!

With the support provided by Lowe’s, we helped Richard and Aimee in the Nokomis neighborhood. Richard and Aimee both live with physical disabilities and needed a ramp to be able to remain in the home and community where they have lived for nearly 25 years. Our incredible Ramp Team constructed a ramp at their home, and Aimee said, “Bless you all. Dick can now get me in and out of the house by himself. I can go to my doctor and the grocery store and visit and get out to play cards again.”

Thank you to Lowe’s and our Ramp Team!

Ramp Enables COVID-19 Survivor to Come Home

Last month, we were thrilled and proud to build a ramp for Duane so he could return home after a battle with COVID-19!  We would like to send a huge thank you to our Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program Ramp Team for their hard work on this project.  We’d also like to thank our other partners who came together to make this happen, including St. Bridget’s Church in Minneapolis and the Knights of Columbus.

We are thrilled to share two exciting staffing changes here at Rebuilding Together Minnesota!

Tom Pfannenstiel, who previously served as our Special Projects Coordinator, has accepted the position of Safe at Home Manager.  In this position, Tom will manage our Safe at Home Program, which provides falls prevention and accessibility modifications for older adults and individuals living with a disability. He has over 38 years of administrative experience in the museum field, including project management, planning, finance, community engagement, staff supervision, and volunteer coordination. He recently has received certificates of completion from The Shannon Leadership Institute and Neighborhood Leadership Program through the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Chris owned his own construction business for more than 25 years and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.

Please join us in congratulating Tom and Chris on their new positions!
